Experience the life and music of Sir Sofele Kakala - the Polynesian composer knighted by Pope John Paul II. His music impacted the peoples of Polynesia and brought a culture of faith far beyond the Pacific. Sir Sofele Kakala was born the 21st of March 1916 and passed September 30th 1991 after a life of great musical impact. He composed 12 full masses for the Catholic Church of Tonga and founded the Kava Social Club which spread across the globe - including 15 Fa’onelua Clubs in the United States alone. He composed for schools in which he taught as well as for the royal Tongan family, villages and Churches.
